The KB-18LD2 keypad with
optional magnetic card or barcode reader enables the user to add
enhanced functionality to any standard computer. It connects easily to
your existing PC using a serial or keyboard wedge interface.
The full number keypad includes six extra function keys. These can be
utilized by any type of software to perform special purpose operations.
The integrated 2 line 16 column LCD screen is ideal for providing
feedback to users when they press various keys or scan their magnetic
stripe cards. The software application can write* to the LCD to output
any number of custom messages. Some possibilities are welcome messages,
today's date, prompt for information or short error messages. Some
examples include: Good Morning - Enter ID, July 10, 1995 10:35, Slide
magnetic card now, Enter desired PIN number etc.. Data from the keypad
can then be sent back to the PC host for processing.
